Depending on how strictly you define Brechtian,
(Brecht wouldn't have)
I think there' been a strain of verfremdung on TV
right back to the early days:
 
George Burns watching his show on TV as it happens,
Dobie Gillis standing in front of The Thinker, addressing the audience,
Ernie Kovacs (more Dada than Brecht, I suppose,
The Monkees.
