The Eighth Annual Graduate Student Conference at Tufts University

Keynote Speaker: Mary Ann Doane
Peripheral Visions is a graduate student conference intended to explore
the intersections of specularity, power and interpretation through a
consideration of diverse genres, methodologies and theoretical
perspectives. Sponsored by the English Department of Tufts University,
Tufts English Graduate Organization, and the Graduate School of Arts and
Sciences.
Topics might include:
* Geographic/Sexual/Racial Peripheries
* Visuality and Specularity
* Film and Sexuality
* Visible Identity
* Visions of Power
* Film/Television/Text
* Popular Media
* Marginal and Spectacular Bodies
* Engendering Vision/Visualizing Gender
* Critical Eyes and Sexy Bodies
* Technologies of Viewing
Please submit 2 page, double-spaced abstracts or 8-10 page papers by July
