Andrew's "Director's Vision"

I've read some descriptions of this new book where the author analyzes a director's style by examining single frames from the film. Though one ludicrously and incorrectly claimed this was a "refreshingly literal examination" and while most others would note that editing rhythms, motion within frame, dialogue, music, etc are hardly trivial parts of a director's style, most of these descriptions say that Andrew uses stills which I would think makes his book almost completely useless. But it's possible he's using frame enlargements and the reviewers don't know the difference (then why are they reviewing film books?) but I haven't been able to see the book. Anybody seen it?
