I am looking for help in locating the title of two films.

The first is a Boris Karloff masterpiece from the '30s. He plays
both lead roles (twin brothers; one good, the other predicably evil).
It is a period piece, set in Europe (?), prehaps around the 1500 or 1600's.
The storyline is simple. The evil twin, jealous of his good brother, kills
him (throws him down a pit where is impaled on a stalagmite), weds his wife
and takes over his fortune/kingdom. The good brother's hounds betray the
evil twin and he is found out when he raises a hand to strike one of them,
a hand that's been paralysed from birth. He flees into
the castle, is chased into various catacombs, and eventually falls into the
same pit and is impaled on top of his dead brother's body. If I recall
correctly, the motivation for the evil twins deeds was a"prophecy" that the
the good brother would kill the evil one, so he does him in first, only to be
"done in" by him later--if you can follow that you win a prize!

Does anyone know the name of this film? It was not mentioned in the
recent biography of Karloff I saw the other day. (I think the last time
I saw the movie it was about 8 or 10 years old!)

The second film title I'm looking for is less clear in my memory. There
is a shipwreck. Survivors (Doug McClure?) make it to an island. There is
pestilance, evil, etc., etc. but nobody can leave. It turns out that there
are a bunch of Nazi soldiers lying on the surrounding reef's floor waiting
to kill anyone who attempts to leave. (I seem to recall that they
verify the tale by using a glass bottomed boat.) The Nazis are gill-men
types; results of an experiment. I believe the "doctor" (Christopher Lee ?)
was trapped on the island as well.

Does anyone know the name of this film? It is also one I saw many
years ago.

If someting comes to mind, please mail me direct.

Thanks!
