The Department of English at Millsaps College seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor of Communication Studies (full-time, one year). We seek a highly motivated individual with a Ph.D. in Communications or a closely related discipline able to do the following: 1) guide students majoring in Communication Studies and work with faculty in other departments, such as Political Science, Sociology/Anthropology, and Philosophy, who teach courses that may count toward the major; 2) teach introductory and upper-level undergraduate communication courses and one or two first-year humanities courses; and 3) supervise a small number of student internships. Specialization in one or more of the following fields is advantageous: marketing, journalism, digital arts, film studies, and filmmaking. This position carries a six-course load over two semesters. Position begins in August 2019. Salary and benefits competitive.
