there are quite a number of Eisenstein biographies, including Ion Barna's
*Eisenstein* (1973), and Norman Shallow's *E... A Documentary Portrait*.
The ole' boy himself had memoirs which were published in 1978 but i don't
know if they've been tranlated into English.
 
as far as E's brand of montage...turn on MTV for 10 minutes.  dialectic
montage is certainly being used and selling products quite nicely, thank you.
