The Department of Media Studies and Digital Culture at Sacred Heart
University in Fairfield, Connecticut, invites applications for a
tenure-track position as the level of assistant professor. MSDC is a
fast-growing department with over 140 majors that combines the study of
media history and theory with the techniques of production. Candidate should
have a broad understanding of the social history of the media (film,
television, video, radio, Internet, journalism, photography); demonstrate a
commitment to excellence in teaching; value creative research and
scholarship; and take a caring approach towards students. Candidate will
teach a University-wide introductory course in media literacy, as well as
courses in the candidate's area of research and expertise. Production skills
or experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable:
television, digital filmmaking, video, multimedia, radio, interactive media.
Ph.D. preferred; ABD considered. Send application letter, including
