This is to give notice of an international symposium 'Post-Soviet Media in
Transition' to be held in Stirling, Scotland, UK, 25-27 August 1995
organised jointly by the Universities of Glasgow and Stirling.
 
It is intended to facilitate an exchange of information and opinions on
this rapidly changing subject area and participants are expected to include
media and Slavonic Studies academics, analysts and practitioners from
Russia, the Baltic countries, Ukraine, Britain and USA. Topics under
discussion include:
 
        Ownership, Control & Regulation
        Media & Cultural Identity
        Commercialism and Advertising
        Journalistic Ethics and Bias
        Professional Training and Foreign Aid
        Foreign Investment, Programme Exchange & Co-production
