Hello,

My name is Alex Masterton and I am currently studying an
MA FEATURE FILM course at GOLDSMITHS COLLEGE in London,
UK. My thesis is about the test screening system in
Hollywood ie., how it came about, it's influences etc.
and would appreciate any suggestions with regards to
academic periodicals, published papers or books regarding
the Hollywood test screening process. In particular, I would
be interested in the studio executives and their position
as media coders and how the audience decodes and influences
the medium of feature film. Also, any articles on director's
comments; how they regard the test screenings and how it
effects their art.

Yours sincerely,

Alex Masterton
