I had the same trouble: I wanted to use the film in my European
films/American remakes class. I had at first been told that a version
would be available in November 1999, then in March 2000, but so far
no good.
        Someone suggested that I put a feeler out on ebay.com, so you
might try that, in case someone has a personal copy they are willing
to sell. However, exhibiting a second-hand copy like that might cause
legal problems.
