Hi,
If you want to get era-specific, there's a good book called 'On the Verge of
Revolt: Women in American Films of the Fifties,' by Brandon French that
makes a nice companion book to Molly Haskell's 'From Reverence to Rape.'
Examines 'The Quiet Man,' 'The Nun's Story,' and others.
