Assistant Professor of Communication, New Media (Tenure Track)

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites applications for an Assistant
Professor in Communication.  This tenure track position will begin in the
2010-2011 academic year. Responsibilities include teaching New Media and
Communication, an upper-division course that examines how new media
technologies impact cultural practices and media industries, and the
introductory media studies course, Media & Society.  Successful candidate
will also have the opportunity to teach and/or develop courses in new media
at both undergraduate and masterıs degree levels.  Candidates must possess
skills necessary to help students create projects that utilize contemporary
and emergent practices of media production, distribution, and exhibition.  A
Ph.D. in communication, media studies, or a related field is required,
although advanced ABDıs will be considered. Candidates are expected to be
excellent teachers, scholars, and citizens of the academy. Record of
scholarly research in new media or global media is preferred.

curriculum vita, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and a copy of graduate

should be mailed directly by applicantıs references to the same address.

Preference will be given to completed applications received by March 1,
