In the credits to Alfonso Arau's A WALK IN THE CLOUDS, I noticed that the script
was based on a story co-authored by Cesare Zavattini, the writer for most of
Vittorio De Sica's greatest films, including THE BICYCLE THIEF.

Does anyone know the history of this tale? It might help to explain the very
old-fashioned quality of the story.

Don Larsson, Mankato State U (MN)
