I see a reference to a search for film depictions of underground escapes,
from Deborah Smith, in the 22 Apr Screen-L. Sorry for the delayed response.
No Screen-L respondent has yet mentioned (dir) Gregory Nava's _El
Norte_ (1983), the true tale of a Guatemalan brother and sister making their
way to the USA. It depicts at one point their trek through an underground
sewer culvert, less than 3' in diameter, for miles beneath the US-Mexico
border--- harrowing and unforgettable.
