We are seeking a scholar of film theory whose work demonstrates an original and innovative contribution in one or more of the following areas: aesthetics, affect, post-colonialism, non-fiction/documentary or queer theory. Preference will be given to candidates who also specialize in non-US cinemas and/or whose work engages with multiple media forms.

The candidate will be expected to teach existing courses in the curriculum, including our two-semester sequence in film theory (classical and contemporary), and introduce new courses in their area of expertise that complement our thriving film and media studies undergraduate and graduate curricula. We are particularly interested in applicants who demonstrate a dedication to building our growing program, as well as fostering interdisciplinary relationships with other programs and departments across campus.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in hand at the time of application and must provide evidence of cutting-edge scholarship and teaching excellence over a period of at least two years.

A complete application will consist of a cover letter that specifically addresses how you meet the above stated requirements, your CV, and three letters of recommendation.
