Actually, I think the word "jew" appears once. Some deplore this (e.g.
Krantz), but I think this critique fails to appreciate Resnais concern with
brutality more generally. As Krantz actually is aware of, Resnais wanted to
make a film that could also adress the french engagement in Algeria at the
time. Regrettably, it looks like Resnais message still has current value.
