Subject: [Ccs_list] Broadcast journalism position at DePaul University
      To: [log in to unmask]

Hello, all. We are starting a search for a new tenure-track professor
whose teaching specializes in broadcast journalism; research can be
from a broader spectrum. If you are interested or know anyone who is,
please feel free to send us your packet or contact me with any
questions.

Warm regards,
Shayla

DePaul University; Chicago, IL
The DePaul University Department of Communication seeks applicants for
a tenure track position in broadcast journalism at the Assistant
Professor level. The successful candidate should have professional
journalism experience and a teaching and research specialization in
broadcast journalism within a converged media environment. Secondary
specializations might include global media, on-line journalism,
alternative media, journalism law and ethics, or international
journalism. The successful candidate will offer undergraduate courses
in journalism and may offer graduate courses in New Media Studies in the
nation's third-largest media market. Additionally, the candidate would
be expected to develop and teach seminars for DePaul's undergraduate
general education program and topic courses in area of specialty.
Candidates with experience teaching in an urban setting with a diverse
student body are encouraged to apply. Review of applications begins on
Nov. 20 and will continue until the position is filled. Ph.D. preferred;
ABD acceptable.

Please send a letter of application, CV, names and contact information
for three references, and copies of unedited teaching evaluations to
Journalism Search Committee, Department of Communication, DePaul
University, 2320 N. Kenmore Avenue, Chicago, IL 60614-3298.

DePaul University is the nation's largest Catholic university and the
largest private university in Chicago, with more than 24,000
undergraduate and graduate students. The university has a strong
commitment to providing a comprehensive liberal arts education and
emphasizes both teaching and research. The growing Department of
Communication has 30 full-time faculty serving approximately 1000
undergraduate majors and 120 graduate students. The Department is
strongly committed to recruiting candidates from under-represented
groups; hence, we solicit applications from women and people of color.
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
