Herbert Blumer's book from I think the early 1930's, Movies and Conduct,
resulted from a Payne Fund research project on just this subject. The book
contains texts written or spoken by young people telling stories of how
movies affected their behavior, including imitation. You also might want
to check other Payne Fund books.
