***as a person who admires Ted Turner a lot (I even named one of my cats
after him), I appreciate this defense.  I think he is an authentic genius,
especially for conceiving and executing the concept that became CNN...he will
probably not get the recognition he deserves until after his death...but he's
right up there with Frederick Kilgour (the founder of OCLC) as a giant in
information entrepreneurship...like many geniuses, he has his eccentricities...
but his accomplishments outweigh them...I don't really mind the
colorization, either...after all, if the films had been made later, they
would probably have been shot in color anyway...not many filmakers today
choose to shoot in black and white...
