 To David Ezell and other members of the group.
  I agree the spirit of the group has changed but I don't think it has anything
to do with Jeremy's vacation. As moderator he is doing a very difficult job.
I really think the change is due to this particular vacation period when
the type of mailer "doing a term paper on some tedious film topic" is away
on vacation. Over the last month, there has been a wealth of stimulating and
informative information contributed by many members concerning the "slow-
motion" topic as well as the very welcome advice offered by Janet Staiger from
her research into copyright issues.
  Let's hope this spirit continues into the next two academic semesters.
