Why is there even a PAL system to begin with? Or, for that matter, SECAM?
Why can't we all just get along? And you wonder why HDTV is STILL on the
drawing board(s).

I'm not sure enough to make any kind of statement here, but there was a
email address of the author, so maybe you could ask him. I'm not passing
the buck, I just want to get you the correct information.
