Lynne Kirby wrote a wonderful essay on painting and Fassbinder, with, i
believe, much comment on _Bitter Tears_.  The essay was published in
_Camera Obscura_ a couple of years ago. Sorry I'm not at my office and
don't have the exact reference. --James Schamus
