You might want to check out films by Ann Turner, a Melbourne filmmaker:
_Celia_, _Hammers over the Anvil_, _Dallas Doll_. Then there is _Shame_,
about rape and small-town Australia, Jane Campion's _Sweetie_ (and I think
there is one about a piano?) films by Tracey Moffat incl. _Bedeviled_ and
_Night Cries_. More recent is _Only the Brave_, by Anna Kokkinos...and many
more I can't think of right now.
That's off the top of my head...can probably check some more for you next week.
