Middlebury College seeks to fill an appointment in the Womenıs and Gender
Studies Program at the level of Associate Professor (with tenure) starting
in fall 2004.  Disciplinary specialization is open.  Areas of competency
should include one of the following: international study of womenıs and
gender issues; or race and ethnicity, particularly outside the United
States. The candidate would also direct the program in rotation with other
faculty members beginning in 2004.  Applicants must hold the doctorate and
have teaching experience in womenıs and gender studies.  They must also
demonstrate a strong research and publication record, commitment to
undergraduate teaching, interest and skill in administration, and experience
working collaboratively with colleagues and community.  We are looking for
someone who can invigorate the WAGS program, enhance the WAGS curriculum,
and make an important intellectual contribution to the community.

Send letters of application, c.v., and three letters of recommendation (at
least two of which speak to teaching ability) to Paula Schwartz, Director,
Program in Womenıs and Gender Studies, c/o Denise Heath, Warner Hall,
Middlebury College, Middlebury, Vermont 05753.  Deadline for applications is
Dec. 1, 2003. Middlebury College is an EOE and encourages applications from
minority groups.
