November 7-10, 2002

Some Suggestions to consider:

 

-    Changing American Indian Stereotypes in Western film

-    History of politics in American Indian image in film

-    American Indian films like Powwow Highway or Smoke Signals

-    Polonsky's Tell Them Willie Boy is Here

-    The Vanishing American

-    The politics of "Indian hating" and filmmaking

-    Any papers on American Indians in film and/or TV 

-    Documentaries about the American Indian: Nanook to the Present
