Please find attached a Call for Papers for the annual Mid-Atlantic  
Popular and American Culture Association (MAPACA) conference to be  
held in Alexandria, Virginia this coming October. There is a dedicated  
Film Studies section, but film related papers  are welcome in any area  
(or non-film papers, for those with research interests in other

This is a Call For Papers for the Mid-Atlantic Popular/American Culture
Association's Annual Conference. The 2010 MAPACA conference will be held
at: The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Alexandria, VA from Thursday, October 28 -
Saturday, October 30, 2010.

This is a general call for papers for the more than 40 session topics
ranging from American Studies to Comics/Cartoon/Video Gaming to  
Environment
and Culture to Music to Popular Architecture and the Built
Environment to War. Proposals are welcome on all aspects of American and
Popular culture.

To submit a proposal, please send a 150-word abstract and a brief CV  
or bio
to the appropriate area chair by June 15, 2010. Panels of 3 or 4
presenters, single papers, roundtables, or alternative formats are
encouraged. Sliding scale registration fees apply.

Please note: Presenters may only present 1 paper; if proposals are
submitted to more than one area, please let the different area chairs  
know.
