Not only actors but just about everyone has some kind of contractual
provision with regard to credits.  Just look at the ads -- both print
and television -- and lobby cards.
 
These provisions generally apply only to venues such as theaters and
video where time is not money.  Television is another story.  Many
showings on tv include only the credits that flow into the story;
others are simply eliminated.
