Mike Frank uses the suggestion that it would be difficult to teach if one
could ONLY do to imply that it might be straightforward to teach if one
could not do at all.  I know about conceptualization, abstraction,
language; and I do teach and enjoy teaching.  But I would still put
forward the timid suggestion that a person who wants to teach somebody
how to appreciate a filmic image would do well to know something about f
stops.  Sorry, but there it is.
