I read a while back that the on-top-of-things folks at MIT's Media Lab
believe that by the time HDTV becomes widely available, it will be
obsolete, or that the "conversion" to HDTV is at best a misguided
postponement of better technology.
 
Anyone care to comment on THAT part of the issue?
