You should check out a tape produced by Paper Tiger Television titled:
"Twist Barbie: Lynn Spigel Dreams of a Plastic Feminism"
(29 minutes, video, 1994)
The catalogue description reads: "From inside Barbie's house, this USC
professor and avid Barbie collector dreams of feminism and femininity, high
art vs 'low culture', and Barbie gender-bending activism. Barbie is a
multi-million dollar business and this show looks at the many layers of
marketing, collecting, displaying and discussing the doll. With a twist."
The tape mentions the work of the Barbie Liberation Organization (BLO).
The BLO may have produced their own video as well.
VHS copies of "Twist Barbie" are available from Paper Tiger Television.
