Another red scare film from the '50s:

 I MARRIED A COMMUNIST (a.k.a., WOMAN ON PIER 13). Released in 1950.
 Here's Maltin's description (right after I MARRIED A CENTERFOLD!):

Janis Gomex is murderous Communist who blackmails shipping executive
Robert Ryan over past activities in this wildly "patriotic"
 film. Interesting, if not credible.

It's silly to go on pretending that under the skin
we are all brothers. The truth is more likely that
under the skin we are all cannibals, assassins,
          traitors, liars and hypocrites.
                                  --Henry Miller--
