Subject: CFP: 2006 Film & History League Conf. "The Documentary
Tradition" 11/8-12/06. Deadline: 7/15

2006 Film and History League Conference

"The Documentary Tradition"

www.filmandhistory.org <http://www.filmandhistory.org/>

Call for Papers

Area: John Ford/John Huston/William Wyler

The World War II documentaries of John Ford, John Huston, and William
Wyler are stellar examples of the finest work in the documentary
tradition. Yet, in many ways the outstanding documentaries of these
three giants of Hollywood cinema are unknown and unappreciated by
contemporary audiences. Thus, we are inviting submissions on all facets
of the documentaries of Ford, Huston, and Wyler, including

*	Production history
*	Contribution to the War effort
*	Social, political, and historical impact
*	Influence on the filmmaker's future Hollywood films
*	Contribution to the filmmaker's auteur status
*	Critical and aesthetic analyses

Deadline for submission is July 25, 2006. Individuals must be
registered for the Conference before final approval of proposals can be
granted.

The Film and History League Conference details can be found at
www.filmandhistory.org <http://www.filmandhistory.org/> .  The meeting
will run from 8-12 November, 2006 in the Dolce Conference Center near
the DFW (Dallas/Fort Worth) airport. A spectrum of other areas will
evolve on the web site over time.

Send all inquiries and proposals for the John Ford/John Huston/William
Wyler Area to:
