        As I type, there exists a number of deals on PAL VCRs on eBay,
some in the very reasonable $200 range.  Point your browser to
www.ebay.com and type in "pal vcr" in the search brick.  I buy frequently
through eBay: I never have purchased a large-ticket item like this
(although close), but I think you would be pleased with the transaction.
These might become popular items within our community, since some video
retailers like Facets are now offering PAL and SECAM formatted tapes in
this country of films previously impossible to obtain.
