The School of Film and Television Studies at the University of East Anglia (UEA) invites applications for a Senior Lecturer in Film and Television Studies (ATR791) and a Lecturer in Film and Television Studies (ATR792). It also invites applications for one 0.5fte Lecturer post (ATS321). UEA is one of the strongest universities in the UK in Film and Television Studies, with a top Research Assessment rating of 5**, and thriving BA, MA and PhD programmes. The East Anglian Film Archive, one of the UK’s leading regional film and television archives is located within the School.

Applicants for ATR791 or ATR792 should be able to contribute to teaching and research in two or more of the following areas: television studies, media studies, new media, gender studies and British cinema. The last of these areas has been a long-term strength of UEA, although we have strengths in American and Japanese film and television. We therefore welcome applications that can also help us realise our commitment to expand our provision beyond these particular national contexts.

The other post (ATS321) is a temporary replacement, and we would ideally like to appoint in the area of film history.

Closing date: 12 noon on 16 January 2009.
Further particulars and an application form can be obtained from the University's web page or by e-mail at: [log in to unmask] or by calling the answerphone on 01603 593493 or by mail to the Human Resources Division, UEA, Norwich NR4 7TJ. Please quote the appropriate reference code.
