Actually, it's not a dream sequence.  The little girl who is the film's
main character visists some relatives who live in the Soluth or at least at
some remove from Brooklyn.  This whole sequence appears in the squeezed
format and goes on for about ten minutes.  It had many people rushing to
complain to theater managers and projectionists and generated a lot of chat
on lists such as this one.
