A use of a photograph intended to "fool" an audience (not successfully) is
the zoom out shot from Marion Cranes eye after her unfortunate encounter
with Norman in the shower.  Hitchcock resorted to a photograph, since there
would have been no way for Janet Leigh to hold still and not blink (as
would a dead person).  What gives the photo away is the lack of movement on
the drops of water that hang suspended on her face.  If only Hitchcock had
had the computer.  I haven't seen the remake.  I'm curious if they try to
do anything with that shot.
