Dept. of communication Studies of the University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill is seeking a assistant/associate professor in media
studies.   Beginning July 1, 1996,  with interests in one or more of
the following areas:  television studies and criticism; political
economy of media; audience studies; news technolodies.
 
Qualifications include the following:  A Ph. D. (or completion during
the 1995-1996 academic year) in communication, media studies, or
related discipline is preferred. Candidates should have demonstrated
a significant record of, or potential for. strong teaching, service,
and scholarly research.
 
Resposibilities will including teaching undergraduate and graduate
courses in the media studies curriculum and in the applicant's areas
of expertise.
 
Plaese send a CV, reprints of articles and/or evidence of other
scholarly productivety and teaching effectiveness, along with four
