I just received an EXCELLENT new book titled _Teleliteracy: Taking
Television Seriously_ by David Bianculli, published by Continuum
Publishing Co. of NY. David is a TV critic for the Philadelphia Inquirer
and the NY Post, and he spoke in my honors class on TV and the military
last year, at which time the book was in the works. It is a fascinating
and somewhat iconoclastic look at television's place in American society.
I'd use it in a minute if I were offering an electronic media course.

I highly recommend anyone interested in media and society to check it out.

David
