i've a recollection of a piece in maybe sight and sound about scorsese's casino, and the montage and VO concerning who watches who in the casino... which the author extends by talking of the eye of god watching all -- and presumably doling out the moral censures to come...
jason and the argonauts contains gods looking down on the mortals via crystal ball-like pools of water. there might be such stuff in that warren beatty film in which he's reincarnated too. and the famous shot in dirty harry of scorpio being tortured in a football stadium.
