I have a question about the problem of identification/non-identification
of the interviewed people in Underground (De Antonio/Lampson, 1976). What I
don't understand is why, on one side, the filmmakers took an agreement with
the interviewed people to not shoot their face, and on the other side, all
the protagonists identify themself (="My name is ...") and are shown
through archive picture. There is at least an apparent contradiction. It
seems that the *direct* image of their faces don't have the same status of
the *archive* image of them, and also of their voice. But why? Are there
legal or maybe ideological reasons that explain this fact? Any information
or interpretation on this will be appreciated.

Thanks!
