Uh... I think we should keep this thread on the original topic of
"Gay/Lesbian TV Characters" and not go into political/civil rights
activities.  No doubt you could find "a number of psychiatrists" who think
gays should be tossed on a bonfire and I could find "strong evidence"
that the world would be a better place if everyone was more open about
their sexuality but none of that has much to do with the topic.  And only
serves to inflame... me. :)
 
(Not to mention the fact that your "number of psychiatrists saying"
becomes "the psychiatrist who wrote that in a letter to the editor in _The
Indianapolis Star_" later in your post.)
