  This is a Call for papers for CINEACTION No. 55, whose theme STAR,
IMAGE,ICON examines the construction and meaning of film stars,
celebrities and actors.  We encourage discussion of personas both
on-and-off screen, considering performance in particular works and/or
the manufacturing of popular images.  Articles may address either
contemporary images or stars/icons from the past.  Submissions must
be in by April 1, 2001. Please send to CINEACTION, c/o Richard Lippe,
