I apologize if this is a repeat message to any of you, but please respond,
if you're interested, by July 31.

I hope to create a panel proposal for the APCS Conference (Assoc. for the
Psychoanalysis of Culture and Society, a primarily Lacanian group) in New
York, Oct.
29-31, on screen (and stage) violence as social symptom, currently or
historically.  If you'd like to present such a paper, please contact me by
email before the end of July.  (My own presentation would be on the
American TV series, MILLENNIUM, as creating a potentially cathartic theatre
for Lacanian "self-sacrifice," while also showing the risks of melodramatic
splitting, symptomatic of most TV drama.)
