"The same book also has a brief bio that
says Godard took Swiss citizenship while a child." writes Lang Thompsom
The quotation was informative but the Son + Image catalogue bio by Colin
Macabe claims that he was still a French Citzen when he was of age to do
military service. It goes on to say that his father advised him to take
Swiss citizenship so that he wouldn't risk being sent to Algieria and JLG
refused.
