Group Members: The Society for Cinema Studies is now making an effort to
update its usuall job listing on-line via the services of Screen-L. The
 following is the first notice I have received as the new co-chair of the Jobs
Committee and So I wanted to bring it to the group's attention. I wanted
to remind Screen-L readers that they should contact me with information about
upcoming jobs in their departments ASAP. We will be doing a formal mailing to
SCS Members next month and are trying to collect information now.
  EMERSON COLLEGE
The Division of Mass Communications is seeking to fill two positions in the
film program beginning fall semester 1993. Appointments will be made as
assistant or associate professor depending on qualifications and experience.
 
Position One: Film production. A terminal degree (preferably an MFA) or
 outstanding professional experience is required. Teaching experience is
 desirable,
as is the ability to teach video production. The ability to teach non-production
 courses in mass communication, especially courses in writing in film, will
also be a factor in the choice of candidates. The position offers the
opportunity to supervise graduate-level productions.
 
Position Two: Film history, theory, and criticism. A PhD is required,
although applicants who are ABD will be given consideration. The ability
to teach courses in television studies is also desirable.
 
Letters of application, accompanied by a curriculum vita and the names of
three references, should be sent to: Chair, Film Search Committee, Division
of Mass Communication, Emerson College, 100 Beacon Street, Boston, MA 02116.
Review of applications will begin October 15 1992, and will continue until
the positions are filled.
