Dear friends of Milestone,

As you probably already know, Amy and I have ventured out on our own and have
started our own DVD label, THE MILESTONE CINEMATHEQUE. We wanted more control
over the process and most importantly, to continue to present the films that
we love and believe in. (Current marketing trends and Q ratings just never
interested us.) We're proud that the first DVDs for the new label -- two
remarkable discoveries from the British Film Institute and Nederlands Filmmuseum --
are now available through Milestone.

ELECTRIC EDWARDIANS: THE LOST FILMS OF MITCHELL & KENYON (
http://www.milestonefilms.com/movie.php/electric/)

BEYOND THE ROCKS
(http://www.milestonefilms.com/movie.php/beyond/).

Although the street date is July 11, we are making them available to the
people on our email list now! As an added bonus, anybody ordering ELECTRIC
EDWARDIANS directly from Milestone, will receive a free 16-page brochure on the films
published by the BFI. Ordering information can be found at the bottom of this
email.

Anyone interested in Public Performance Rights can email back to us at

Best regards,
Dennis

Milestone Film & Video launches its new DVD label
THE MILESTONE CINEMATHEQUE with two remarkable classics!
Gloria Swanson and Rudolph Valentino in BEYOND THE ROCKS
and Mitchell & Kenyon's ELECTRIC EDWARDIANS

BEYOND THE ROCKS

Martin Scorsese calls BEYOND THE ROCKS "a cause for celebration... a precious
gift... a testament to the extraordinary artistry of silent cinema." BEYOND
THE ROCKS stars film legends Gloria Swanson and Rudolph Valentino at the height
of their careers and sexual appeal. This outstanding silent romance was long
considered one of the great “lost” films from the Hollywood golden age. Its
amazing rediscovery by the Nederlands Filmmuseum made headlines around the
world. Sam Wood (Goodbye Mr. Chips, Pride of the Yankees) directs this delirious
Elinor Glyn melodrama/roller-coaster ride through the English countryside, the
Swiss Alps, Paris, London and the Sahara Desert! Brilliantly restored with a
wonderful new orchestral score, BEYOND THE ROCKS is ready for its close-up!

ELECTRIC EDWARDIANS

The astonishing discovery of the original Sagar Mitchell & James Kenyon
negatives in Blackburn, England - in a basement about to be demolished - has been
described as film's equivalent of Tutankhamen's tomb. Preserved and restored by
the BFI National Film and Television Archive in collaboration with the
University of Sheffield National Fairground Archive and featuring a hauntingly
beautiful score by In The Nursery, this treasure trove of extraordinary footage
provides an unparalleled record of everyday life in the years before World War I.
Mesmerizing scenes of trolley cars and crowded streets, soccer matches,
temperance parades, throngs of workers leaving the factory and a myriad of simple
pleasures transport us to another - lost - world. The effect is as if H.G.
Wells' marvelous time machine had come to life.

DELUXE BONUS FEATURES! OPTIONAL VOICEOVER COMMENTARY BY DR. VANESSA TOULMIN,
NATIONAL FAIRGROUND ARCHIVE, UNIVERSITY OF SHEFFIELD. / VIDEO INTERVIEW WITH
DR. TOULMIN. / 'PICTURES OF CROWD SPLENDOR' BY TOM GUNNING, UNIVERSITY OF
CHICAGO. / SHORT VIDEO FEATURE ON THE RESTORATION. / 'DIVING LUCY' AND ADDITIONAL
SHORTS BY MITCHELL & KENYON. / ELECTRIC EDWARDIANS PRESS KIT
