Luke Delwiche suggests that Tara Mocsny look at Asians cast as Native
Americans. Michael Wood has a lively chapter in America in the Movies
on Hollywood's substitution of one Other for another Other. According to
Wood, John Gregory Dunne in The Studio describes Fred Zinnemann selecting
Toshiro Mifune to play Crazy Horse and "to maintain ethnic balance" asking
Richard Zanuck to cast "another Oriental" as Sitting Bull.
