I don't know if this counts as an elderly woman in film, but Joan
Plowright's performance in Enchanted April is incredible.  She deserved the
oscar instead of Marisa Tomei, but I have my thoughts about that.  Also,
Enchanted April is an incredibly beautiful film that all people should see.
