Adair, G. (ed.) (1999) Movies.New York New York. Penguin Books.

This book features essays and letters by Akira Kurosawa, Antione Lumiere,
Leo Tolstoy, Satyajit Ray, Terry Southern, Umberto Eco, Wim Wenders, Peter
Greenaway, Robert Bresson, Andre Bazin, Norman Mailer, Renoir, Fellini,
Goddard, Truffaut, Hitchcock, Eisenstein, The Marx Brothers, Rudyard
Kipling, Milan Kundera, Orson Welles, and more.

Andre Bazin's essay on Chaplin is of great interest as is an essay by James
Agee called "Comedy's Greatest Era" which discusses the differences in the
comedy of Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin, Harry Langdon and Harold Lloyd.

Hope this is helps Rob.

R.Johanson.
