Other TV remakes for the big screen that have popped into my head since I
last posted:

The Untouchables: very good, and actually one of the first tv shows to
be made into a movie if memory serves, plus started a sort of trend of
awarding a best supporting actor to a relatively big name actor enjoying
a sort of career revitalization while ignoring the big star lead. (See
The Fugitive)

Dragnet: Yes, it's silly and kind of stupid, but I really enjoyed this
remake.

Car 54, Where Are You?: I have not seen this one, but I have heard it
was a real stinker, sitting in the can for a couple years before playing
in theatres for about a week. I think Siskel or Ebert even named it one
of the worst of the year.
